JOHN GEORGE
John George has been driving racing cars since 2000, when he competed in the BRDC Formula Ford 1600 Championship. Since then, he has progressed through many other areas of the sport, including driving in the Clio Cup, Renault Winter Series and latterly the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship.
In 2004, John George and Team JAG entered the first ever Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) fuelled car into the BTCC. The same year John George was named winner of the Willhire Saloon Class.
In 2005, John George competed in the Silverstone 24 Hour race, winning in the saloon class.
2005 and 2006 saw John George win multiple titles in the Production S1 series.
In 2007 he achieved two pole position starts in the BTCC, an 8th place finish and 10th place overall in the Independent Driver’s Cup.
2008 has been marred by technical difficulties and bad luck, but the optimism and resilience of John George and his team promises for some very exciting results before the season comes to a close.
John George, when he’s not racing in the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship owns and operates JAG Communications (South West) Ltd: the UK’s Third Largest Independent Mobile Phone Retailer, with 75 branches spanning England and Wales.

John George also owns and operates Perranporth Airfield in Cornwall. John is a keen aviator and commutes in his own plane every day from his home in Guernsey to JAG’s Head Offices, adjacent to the airfield. John flies to every BTCC race meeting and back again afterwards: the only active and qualified pilot in the Championship!
John’s wife, Sue is a co-director of JAG Communications and attends every race. John’s children, Kailey and Kevin also work for JAG Communications (South West) Ltd. It truly is a family business.
